This page explains the information the current TumbleTune application handles and why.
Information you choose to provide
The contact form stores the name, email address, subject, and message you submit, together with the request IP address and browser user-agent value, so authorised administrators can review and manage the enquiry.
Newsletter signup stores an email address, an optional name, the signup source, IP address, and browser user-agent value. A private unsubscribe token supports the unsubscribe link, and using that link changes the subscription status.
Where article comments are available, a submission can include a name, email address, optional website, and comment. The request IP address and browser user-agent value are also stored, and new comments wait for moderation before public display.
Cookies, sessions, and consent choices
The application uses a PHP session cookie for request security, form tokens, and authenticated portal sessions. The session cookie is HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, and it is marked Secure when the application directly receives an HTTPS request.
The cookie controls save an accepted or rejected choice in browser storage and cookies. Those client preference cookies are set for 365 days. The application also records the consent choice, policy version, and optional-analytics preference under a derived consent identifier, with hashed IP and browser values.
The current source records whether optional analytics were accepted, but it does not load an external analytics vendor from that preference. Readers can reopen Cookie Settings to change the stored choice.
Article view counting
Opening a published article increments its total view count and a daily count for that article. These counts support readership trends in the editorial dashboard.
Your available controls
Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link. Cookie Settings can update the optional-cookie choice. Privacy questions or concerns can be sent through the contact form.
